Belfast One and Visit Belfast are ensuring that visitors to the City Centre will be greeted with a warm welcome, as four new ambassadors take to the streets throughout the summer offering knowledge, advice and signposting to local and international shoppers, diners and entertainment seekers.

Liz Kerr, Chair of Belfast One, said:
“With the phenomenal number of first time visitors to Belfast already this summer from cruise ships and returning visitors from closer to home from across Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland and Great Britain, and with the thousands who have descend on the city for The Open, we are all too aware of the importance of ensuring that visitors are made to feel welcome as soon as they arrive.
“Our ambassadors may be the first person a visitor meets as they wander our streets for the first time so they are walking around our beautiful city courteously and proactively approaching those who appear to be in search of a landmark, a shop or a restaurant etc to offer assistance in directing them to their chosen destination or to offer advice and local knowledge on places to eat, local attractions to visit or sights to see.”
Welcome Ambassadors can be found in designated areas across Belfast One from 9.30am until 6.30pm, seven days a week, in order to ensure to help anyone who appears to need assistance.
Mary Jo McCanny, Director of Visitor Servicing at Visit Belfast said:
“Visit Belfast welcomes tens of thousands of visitors to the city over the summer months through our flagship Visit Belfast Welcome Centre on Donegall Square North and our visitor information points at each of our airports, where we provide a wide range of visitor information and services, from left luggage to providing ideas on what to see and do right across the city.

“Through these new Ambassadors we are able to extend our welcome and visitor servicing operation out into the city centre, helping visitors and residents make the most out of their time in Belfast.”

Belfast One BID (Business Improvement District) exists to promote Belfast, enhance the city centre and support its member businesses.
