Job Description

PURPOSE:

Reporting to Head of Commercial and Partnership, the Commercial & Partnership Sales Manager will be responsible for developing Visit Belfast’s commercial sales and growth strategies and for engaging and managing our strong industry partnership database in the marketing of the city, aligned with Visit Belfast’s aims and objectives to drive visitor numbers and spend for the city and region.

This role involves implementing and supporting the Commercial and Partnership team with the commercial focus and change across the organisation, in line with Belfast’s ambitious commercial and partner income targets.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Review, develop and manage a robust partnership approach, to embrace strategic partners, corporate partners and a tiered level of partnership engagement that relates to benefits and costs.
  2. Increase commercial income generation by developing and implementing new strategies, opportunities and a programme of proactive sales, marketing and communication plans and activity.
  3. Manage the creation, development and implementation of existing and new sponsor and partner commercial advertising platforms and packages across all channels, traditional and digital.
  4. Represent Visit Belfast by attending and, as required, presenting at partner and industry events including Tourism NI, Tourism Ireland, Belfast City Council conferences/events, Partnership Board forums and other stakeholder workshops and events on a regular basis.
  5. Plan, organise and manage a programme of Visit Belfast industry partnership events and networking programmes to strengthen relationships with partners and industry stakeholders and keep fully informed of Visit Belfast’s plans.
  6. Contribute to the ongoing development of Visit Belfast’s commercial, sales and partnership strategy by implementing benchmarking practices and processes against other partnership organisations locally, nationally and internationally.
  7. Monitor and manage commercial and partnership performance against targets set, implementing remedial action where required and reporting on progress against sales targets and providing regular monthly management reports to the senior management team and in respect of Visit Belfast Board and Committees.
  8. Develop a proactive approach to partnership retention through monitoring satisfaction levels with Visit Belfast, undertaking regular client reviews and putting in place remedial action to meet partner needs. Undertake external research with partners on an annual basis.
  9. Review and manage commercial and partnership sales, financial and service processes and procedures effectively and in line with Visit Belfast’s policies and procedures.
  10. Contribute to the management of partner queries and complaints efficiently and effectively, recommending solutions and changes to improve the partnership service across the organisation.
  11. Maintain a detailed and accurate contact management database/CRM system in accordance with general data protection policy and Visit Belfast procedures.
  12. Deliver regular staff departmental briefings on commercial and partnership activity, developments and relevant updates.
  13. Manage and develop commercial and partnership contact and engagement strategies / activity plans through liaising with all Visit Belfast departments in relation to partnership communications, sales and marketing activity.
  14. Manage commercial and partnership income and expenditure budgets, ensuring all financial procedures and controls are adhered to, evaluated and updated on a continuous basis.
  15. Coordinate and manage content development of Visit Belfast’s corporate website and digital marketing communications in relation to partnership and marketing opportunities.
  16. Oversee the management of all partnership records and entries including for print and digital publications, digital applications, and websites to ensure they are appropriate, accurate and correct.
  17. Manage the development of commercial and partnership marketing and sales support collateral including information packs, rate cards and industry and partner sales presentations.
  18. Undertake any other duties as required by the Head of Commercial and Partnership and the Visit Belfast senior management team.
  19. This role requires out of hours working, engaging effectively with the tourism, retail and hospitality sectors, as well as representing Visit Belfast at evening/weekend industry events.
  20. Carry out all duties with full regard to Visit Belfast’s equal opportunities and fair employment policies.
