Tara Kumar, together with special guests, is set to host Guinness Live & Rising event in Common Market Bar, celebrating the unique contribution of pubs across Ireland.
Today, Guinness has announced its next Guinness Live & Rising event, which will take place on Sunday 2 July in Common Market Bar, Belfast, hosted by Irish DJ Tara Kumar.
For one day only, Tara will host an old school block party with all the unique experiences you would expect, bringing together local Belfast talent from the worlds of music and food, and a limited-edition vintage pop-up shop.
Celebrating the cultures that Tara draws influence from, some of Common Market’s resident food trucks will serve up new dishes inspired by Irish and South Asian flavours. Expect the usual favourites, like pizza and poutine, but with a twist!
Throughout the day, guests can expect dynamic performances from Belfast natives, and local DJs keeping the tunes going into the night, with plenty of surprises along the way. A pop up vintage store will have some old school Guinness merch for guests to browse, as well as some staple pieces, drawing from Tara’s own style.
Guinness Live & Rising, is a new initiative celebrating Irish pubs across the country, showcasing the role they play as homes and hosts of incredible experiences in music, food, sport and the arts. Guinness Live & Rising launches with an initial 12-month programme of pop-up music, food and sports events in pubs across the country. The programme has been specially designed to showcase the unique creativity, culture and craic that can only be found in an Irish pub.
Tara Kumar said: “I’m excited to partner with Guinness to curate the third Guinness Live & Rising event in Common Market Bar and celebrate the incredible role that pubs play as homes of experiences in music, food, sport and the arts. Drawing inspiration from my roots, the event will bring together my Irish and South Asian heritage, all beautifully blended with the vibrancy of Guinness. I can’t wait to share this experience with some incredible talent from Belfast. I am in awe of their craft, and what better place to spotlight these creatives than the pub, where many up-and-coming performers have started their careers.”
The series was launched in epic fashion by global superstar Dermot Kennedy who performed in the Guinness Storehouse on May 2, with the special evening hosted by Tara. The next day Dermot surprised fans with special pop-up pub performances in The Long Hall, Devitt’s and Toner’s where he was joined by Aimee, Somebody’s Child and Niamh Bury. Now, Guinness Live & Rising will showcase further unique collaborations with new and established talent from the worlds of music, food, sport, and the arts over the next 12 months in pop-up pub events.
