Dippy, the Natural History Museum’s iconic Diplodocus dinosaur skeleton, is coming to Belfast.
He arrives in the Ulster Museum, Belfast, on 28th September to 6th January and will help visitors explore why there are so few of his fellow dinosaurs to be found in Ireland, discover some lost Irish Giants and understand how our island’s history has shaped a unique mix of plants and animals.
The primary audience for Dippy on Tour exhibition is family visitors with children aged 7-11. It is expected that approximately 120,000 visitors will be descending on Belfast with particular peaks at the weekends and Halloween / Christmas holidays.
The exhibition is free of charge, but must be pre-booked in advance at www.nmni.com/dippy.
The Ulster Museum and a range of partners will also be staging a wider programme of ticketed dino-related events such as guided tours, lecture series, films, interactive sessions, dining experiences and late-night sessions.
