Champion boxer Carl Frampton and wife Christine were joined by media personalities, Mayors and Councillors as well as TV mentalist David Meade at this year’s special Circuit of Ireland Test Day at the Eikon Complex, Maze near Lisburn.

Top rally drivers Stephen Wright from Monaghan, Carryduff based Jonny Greer, Alan Carmichael from Ballymoney and young rising star William Creighton from Moira gave up their valuable time to provide guests with high speed thrills combined with sharp twists and turns under ‘Test’ conditions.

Jonny and Stephen brought their R5s whilst Alan Carmichael showcased his new Skoda Fabia and 18 year old William Creighton who will undertake his first Circuit in 2016 drove his Peugeot 208 R2.

Event Director Bobby Willis thanked all the drivers for their input and contribution, “It was a fantastic day and I’m very grateful to Stephen, Jonny, Alan and William for helping us host such a brilliant event at the Eikon Complex. I’d also like to thank our Circuit volunteers who helped manage Test Day and of course the Eikon staff – what a super location for a Test Day event.

“The countdown to our 85th Circuit is well and truly on and with entries now closed and being compiled we’re looking forward to a superb entry for both the international and national rallies.

Over the years the Circuit of Ireland  has grown to become a truly international sporting event, attracting top local and international drivers. It has a TV audience of 40million, with the event broadcast on Eurosport and their partner networks, as well as many other stations throughout UK and Ireland.

This year it revisits iconic stage locations close to Lisburn, Downpatrick and Banbridge as well as the Ards TT town centre stage. The Rally will also take in Antrim, Ballymena and the North Coast region featuring Game of Thrones locations and the Causeway Coastal route. For the first time ever,  two of the biggest and most outstanding Circuit stages will be joined  – Glendun  and Torr Head – to create one marathon stage extending over 31 km which will almost certainly test competitors to the limit.
