It’s the biggest scientific event in millennia: Dinosaurs have returned to Earth. After a series of baffling global incidents, scientists confirm that massive energy portals, bridging the prehistoric past with the modern day, have appeared around the world. Through them, real dinosaurs have crossed into our time. And this summer, they’re heading to Belfast’s award-winning science and discovery centre, W5.

A GLOBAL PHENOMENON SHOCKS THE WORLD

Scientists worldwide have been left stunned by the sudden reappearance of dinosaurs, as sightings pour in from remote forests to urban outskirts. In Northern Ireland alone, more than a dozen verified encounters have been recorded, spanning everything from peaceful herbivores to some of history’s most formidable predators. Researchers are calling it “the most significant biological event in human history”.

MEET THE IAPD: EARTH’S NEWEST TASK FORCE

To protect both humanity and the newly arrived creatures, the International Association for the Preservation of Dinosaurs (IAPD) was formed. A coalition of elite scientists, palaeontologists, and animal experts, the IAPD has established its first public-facing headquarters in W5. Their mission: to contain, protect, and study these prehistoric creatures. This summer, for the first time, civilians are being granted access to this top-secret facility.

DINOSAURS SURVIVE AT W5 – WHERE SCIENCE MEETS SURVIVAL

Launching Saturday 31 May, Dinosaurs Survive! is W5’s most ambitious and immersive experience yet. Step inside the world of the IAPD and witness how humans are learning to coexist with Earth’s most formidable creatures.

Guided by IAPD experts, visitors will embark on a thrilling journey through the facility. The experience begins in the Discovery Zone, where the story unfolds, followed by the Dinosaur Hatchery, where eggs tremble with life. Continue to the Holding Pen, where towering juveniles await, and finally into the heart-pounding Carnivore Enclosure. Here, you’ll come face-to-face with fearsome predators including Carnotaurus, Spinosaurus, Giganotosaurus, and, if you’re lucky, an elusive pack of Velociraptors.

PLAN YOUR SUMMER ADVENTURE

Dinosaurs Survive! is included with general admission to W5 and runs on selected dates from Saturday 31 May until Saturday 31 August. The IAPD Headquarters guided experience is free with admission, but pre-booking is essential due to limited capacity.
