Belfast’s five-star accommodation and hospitality house, The Regency has launched a special edition Festive Afternoon Tea in partnership with south Belfast’s fine dining restaurant, A Peculiar Tea.

Running from Saturday 9 December until Sunday 31 December*, guests will be transported into a world of timeless elegance in the opulent setting of The Regency’s Crescent Suite for a quintessential Afternoon Tea experience.

The limited-edition seasonal menu, priced at £47.50 per person, has been curated by award-winning chef and proprietor of A Peculiar Tea, Gemma Austin. Renowned for her innovative tasting menus that evoke escapism through creative ingredients, the Festive Afternoon Tea menu is filled with a selection of festive flavours, and inspired by the theme of ‘Christmas movies’.

On arrival, guests can choose from a range of S.D Bell’s tea blends including the seasonal Christmas Tea, before being served up a delectable array of traditional Christmas sandwiches including Turkey, Sprout and Gravy and Honey Ham, Burgundy Mustard and Cheese, while Kevin McCallister’s Cranberry Pizza and Bacon and Scamorza Arancini add to a delightful offering of savoury options.

Freshly baked, featherlight scones accompanied with clotted cream and jam complement a melt-in-the-mouth-range of sweet treats and pastry including, White Chocolate Kinder Macarons, Coconut and Caramel Snowmen and Maple and Pecan Praline Santa Hats.

For an elevated Afternoon Tea experience, guests can opt to add Champagne to their tea for an additional £10pp, or choose to enjoy their favourite cocktail in one of The Regency’s many communal lounges.

The launch of the Festive Afternoon Tea menu represents one of several pop-up dining experiences that The Regency plans to host in 2024 in the lead up to its final phase development, which will unveil an expanded food and beverage offering within the city’s landmark Georgian Crescent, nestled in the historic Queen’s Quarter.

Commenting on the launch of Festive Afternoon Tea, Andrea Kieran, proprietor at The Regency, said:

“Over the last couple of years, we have developed a close relationship with Gemma, and are continually wowed by her skills and creativity regarding food innovation, so we are thrilled to be hosting this special edition Afternoon Tea experience in partnership with her and the team from A Peculiar Tea.

“The Crescent Suite has been adorned with festive decorations for guests to capture plenty of picture-perfect moments, and it also boasts stunning views of the Crescent green, creating a serene and magical setting for a special dining experience this Christmas.”

The Regency has also launched its Gift Voucher range just in time for Christmas. Gift Vouchers can be purchased to treat a loved one to either an overnight stay at The Regency, or a Festive Afternoon Tea dining experience before 31 December.
