Shoppers in Belfast city centre are in with the chance to win big rewards by downloading the ‘Your Belfast Rewards’ app.

Around 200 businesses have signed up to the new ‘Your Belfast Rewards’ app – offering hundreds of prizes to shoppers and visitors.

The app has been developed by Belfast City Council, as part of the #YourBelfast Christmas campaign, with city centre retailers promoting offers and events within their business. It features daily and weekly competitions for people to win hundreds of pounds worth of vouchers to spend in the city centre as well as tickets to concerts and events and one-off offers for entry into the city centre amusements and attractions.

Lord Mayor, Councillor Deirdre Hargey, joined local retailers in the city centre to launch the exciting new app.

She said: “I’m delighted to launch the ‘Your Belfast Rewards’ app with some of the city centre retailers who will be taking part in this very rewarding initiative. They are among 200 local businesses who have signed up and will be providing a range of incentives and rewards each day in the run-up to Christmas for city centre shoppers and visitors to Belfast.

“People can download the app and be in with a chance to win hundreds of prizes – small and large – from a free cup of coffee to thousands of pounds worth of vouchers to spend in city centre stores.  Check out our website for all the details on the app as well as find out more about our #YourBelfast Christmas campaign at www.belfastcity.gov.uk/yourbelfast.”

People can download the Your Belfast Rewards app from the app store keeping up-to-date with daily events and offers displayed under the ‘news’, ‘events’ and ‘offers’ tabs – gaining access to daily competitions, prizes, events and offers from city centre businesses.

A temporary walkway reconnecting Royal Avenue to Donegall Place is now open in the city centre and over the weekend Primark opened on Castle Street as well as department store Guineys in the former BHS premises on Castle Place. Argento, Spar, DV8, Skechers and McDonald’s are also now open again following temporary closure after the Bank Buildings fire.
