The Business community in Belfast’s historic Cathedral Quarter is getting ready to rock out for Culture Night!

The Destination CQ BID (Business Improvement District), one of three in Belfast’s City Centre, is located at the epicentre of Culture Night, which is set to take place this year on 21 September. A staggering figure of over 100,000 people are expected to flock to the city this year for Culture Night to enjoy over 250 free family-friendly events.

BID members, which includes local business, arts organisations and members of the hospitality industry, are bracing themselves once more for record figures descending upon the Cathedral Quarter for the city’s 10th Culture Night programme.

Last year, Culture Night Belfast delivered a £1million boost to the local economy over just one evening, with 100,000 people attending, including 18,000 from outside Northern Ireland.

Gareth Neill of Destination CQ BID welcomed the return of Culture Night Belfast and said local organisations were looking forward to:

As our name suggests, Destination CQ happily finds itself right in the geographical and spiritual heart of Culture Night! Not unlike Culture Night a decade ago, the Business Improvement District for the Cathedral Quarter was established in 2016 with a remit to promote the vitality and vibrancy of this unique area of Belfast.

Every successful modern city across the globe has a vibrant arts and cultural sector, making an incredibly valuable contribution to local economies, local attractiveness and quality of life. Culture Night demonstrates that Belfast is no exception. Destination CQ passionately supports and recognises the incredibly important role that the cultural and creative industries play in making our city shine, both economically and culturally.

Tzvetelina Bogoina Seenan of local business Kopyright added:

As a local business owner and Destination CQ BID member, I’m proud to support our city’s cultural organisations, events and activities; it is our ambition to support and assist where we can the sheer creativity, innovation and cultural assets which help make Belfast a local city with international clout.

“Where better place to start than with Culture Night Belfast – the biggest event in the city’s cultural calendar. We’ll be down amongst the 100,000 plus people on 21 September, throwing ourselves into the crazy magical mix that is Culture Night!
Culture Night Belfast takes place on Friday 21 September from 1pm-10pm.
