Visit Belfast is on course for a bumper Christmas in the city, thanks to a new campaign to encourage people into the city.

The new ‘Christmas in Belfast – Share the Joy’ campaign, which is being rolled out across Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, is already achieving significant traction across TV, radio, press, digital and PR channels in the lead up to Christmas. The campaign was developed by Visit Belfast and supported by the Belfast Chamber of Trade and Commerce and strategic partners Translink, Victoria Square and Castlecourt.

The £250,000 marketing campaign aims to attract hundreds of thousands of visitors to Belfast during the extended festive season – highlighting the fact that the city has something to bring joy to everyone – from unique shopping experiences, award winning markets, world class visitor attractions and entertainment venues to pubs, bars and Michelin star restaurants. With great seasonal hotel deals across the city, shoppers, diners and fun seekers are encouraged to stay the night and make the most of their visit to Belfast.

Anne McMullan, Director of Marketing and Communications at Visit Belfast said “Last year’s campaign generated 353,000 trips to Belfast, which generated an estimated £26 million for the economy. This year already, the campaign advert has been seen by nearly 400,000 people online and the campaign has been seen five million times on social media, so we are hopeful that this year will be one of the best in Belfast.”
